Headboard

Tiffany and I created a headboard for our California King bed. The idea was all hers. I did the wood work, she did most of the upholstery.

We didn’t start taking pictures until after the board had been prepared and the foam padding glued and trimmed. So I don’t have any picture of the woodworking part of the project.

The board took awhile to prepare. Since Tiffany picked it up by herself and a board the size we needed would not fit in her car she had them cut it in half for her at the store. We used wooded dowels, glue, and mending brackets to join the two pieces back together. I used a router and a circle jig to cut out the corners.

This first layer of fabric helps keep the foam in place, the second layer smooth, and if we ever want to replace the outer layer we it will be much easier.

The mounting brackets are made from a piece of 1”x8” pine. I ripped the board in half on my table saw then cut each piece in half at a 45 degree angle.
