Wall Mirrors

This is another project from Tiffany’s crafty mind. I think she got the inspiration from shanty-2-chic.com. She procured all of the materials including a new Kreg Pocket Hole jig. She even cut all of the boards to length by herself on the miter saw. I did the assembly, sanding, and mounting, while she cut the wood and put the finish on. The three mirrors cost $74.26 to make not including tools and fasteners most of which we already had.

I am generally not a big fan of pockethole joints, they are mostly to help with assembly, the plywood back will provide most of the rigidity and strength.

Some of the boards didn't come together quite right so I am planing the edges so that the trim fits snug.
Trim close up. The trim peices are glued and nailed onto the frame. To Tiffany's dissapointment I screwed up as the trim was supposed to sit proud of the frame. I think they still turned out ok though.

After several rounds of sanding Tiffany applied a coat of stain and two coats of polyurethane.
Mounting these pieces of plywood as ledgers made mounting the mirrors a lot easier.

Assembly line time for adding the brackets.
First I market the holes for all of the brackets using my combination ruler to make sure they all went in the exact same place on the frame.
Next and drilled all of the holes.
Finally screwed all of the brackets in place.
Each mirror is fastened to the ledgers at the top and bottom to keep them flush with the wall even if Alexa or Brecken messes with them.
